Competitors participating in the international robotics competition on behalf of Nepal were bid farewell on Monday. Under the U-18 group, the Nepali student team will participate in the international robotics competition to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.
The competition will be conducted from October 27th to 31st. The Robotics Association has formed a national team by including those who have excelled in various school-level competitions.
In the farewell program, Joint Secretary of Robotics Association Omkar Jaiswal claimed that Nepal will come with some title in this year’s robotics competition. He said that this time there is a carbon capture theme related to climate change and his goal will be to complete the tasks of the robot for the competition.
Meanwhile, the player Sankalp Bhattarai said that it is a game to win by making the robot with his skills from the kit sent to 180 countries and working on the theme of carbon capture. Another player, Suryadeep Shrestha, said that if he could not win the game, he would come with some title.
He said there is a team of 8 Nepalese players. Similarly, team manager Riya Shahi said that the Nepali team is very excited. She also said that Nepal will participate in it from October 27th to 31st.
Nepalese students have been participating in this competition through the Robotics Association of Nepal. Before the start of the Corona epidemic, the association used to organize a special competition for the 18-year-old age group. Those who excelled in the same competition were allowed to participate in the First Global Challenge.
Since 2019, the device has not been competed due to Corona. Nepal has participated in the 2018, 2019 and 2020 and 2021 competitions. Physical presence in the 2022 competition. The year 2020 and 2021 participated through virtual means. The Nepalese team was in the top 32 in 2019 and 95th in the 2018 competition. For the competition, all the contestants from 180 countries participating in the Olympics were provided with the same robot kit.
