Recapturing the Entrepreneurial Magic: Unveiling the Secrets of Turning Dreams into Reality

Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, conducted their third mentorship session on “Forming the Dream” at Advanced College of Engineering and Management on January 14 at 2 pm. The program commenced with an introductory speech about the Hult Prize. The episode proved particularly successful, not only due to the active participation of young entrepreneurs but also because of the excellent guest speakers. The guests for the event were Ramesh Pathak, CEO of Naamche, and Ms. Ichhya Malla, Corporate Trainer.

Icchya Malla extended a warm greeting, wishing us a good afternoon, and underscored the significance of understanding the speaker’s background for evaluating credibility. Having completed her schooling in India, she subsequently moved to the USA, graduating from Johns Hopkins University and gaining one year of experience at Microsoft. Despite her family business involvement, she felt a lack of personal value contribution. Noting widespread criticism of bureaucracy without commensurate efforts for improvement, she redirected her focus to narrowing the gap between students and bureaucracy. Over the past eight years, she has actively worked on designing a curriculum specifically for bureaucrats, including an exam aimed at enhancing their skills within the bureaucratic framework.

She is a versatile professional with a background in working across diverse sectors such as banking, automobiles, and real estate, specializing in corporate buildings and human resources. Recently, she facilitated team-building training for the multinational company Axiata in Nepal. Demonstrating a highly engaging approach, she began the session by actively involving the audience, prompting them to share their reasons for attending and expectations. Throughout the training, she delved into the fundamental concept of teamwork and addressed potential challenges that may arise in collaborative environments. This approach highlights her expertise in organizational development, team building, and human resources, emphasizing practical insights and problem-solving strategies for effective teamwork in various corporate contexts.

As the event unfolded, the esteemed Mr. Ramesh Pathak, CEO and cofounder of Naamche took to the stage, captivating the audience with his insightful discourse on the essence of startups. With an electrifying presence, he declared that the driving force behind every startup is the pursuit of growth. With finesse, Mr. Pathak expertly navigated the complexities of the startup landscape, unveiling the essential components needed for embarking on the entrepreneurial journey. Through his compelling narrative, he painted a vibrant portrait of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, emphasizing the vital role of vision, innovation, and resilience in achieving success. As the crowd hung onto his every word, it was clear that Mr. Pathak’s mastery extended beyond conveying information – it was about inspiring and empowering aspiring entrepreneurs.

In an engaging narrative, he shared the origin story of his company, shedding light on the idea’s inception. He openly discussed the challenges faced in recruiting top-tier talent, emphasizing the pivotal role of a skilled team in a startup’s success. The conversation broadened to encompass profitability, the influence of foreign investments, and strategies for sustaining a startup in a dynamic market. Concluding with a candid discussion on the inevitability of startup failures, the founder imparted valuable insights into the lessons learned and the resilience that fuels Naamche’s growth.
