Semi-Finale of Hult Prize at Kathmandu University: A Celebration of Innovation andEntrepreneurship

The semi-final round of the Subha Yatra Presents Hult Prize at Kathmandu University was held
on January 4, 2025, at Nepal College of Management (NCM), Lalitpur. This prestigious event
showcased the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Kathmandu University’s students as they
competed to advance to the final.
The event commenced with a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and judges, followed by an
inaugural session. The Deputy Campus Director, Shreedhi Neupane, delivered an inspiring
opening speech, setting a motivational tone for the day. A panel of six distinguished judges was
present to evaluate the teams. These judges included Mr. Suraj Timalsina, Founder of Lukeko
Law; Mr. Amit Chhetri, Founder of Ekaa Kombucha; Ms. Sangita Sharma, an IT industry
educator; Mr. Manish Devkota, CEO of Golden Fidelity Pvt. Ltd.; and Mr. Darshan Khanal,
CEO of Subha Yatra.
A total of 14 teams participated in the semi-finals, each bringing unique and groundbreaking
ideas aimed at addressing global challenges. The participants impressed the judges with their
creativity, critical thinking, and practical approaches. Their innovative solutions demonstrated a
deep understanding of the competition’s goals and the potential to create meaningful social
impact.
After a rigorous evaluation process, the judges selected five teams to advance to the final round,
which will take place at Kathmandu University. The final teams are BreatheBox, Filter Fixers,
NutriNest, Myra and Synergy. These finalists were honored with certificates, recognizing their
hard work and exceptional ideas. All participants were also awarded certificates for their
commendable efforts and participation in the competition.
The event concluded with the closing remarks of Campus Director, Shreeju Manandhar,
distribution of tokens of love to the judges, sponsors, and the NCM Student Council as a gesture
of gratitude. A photo session captured the memorable moments of the day, celebrating the spirit
of innovation and collaboration that the Hult Prize embodies.
The semi-final round was a resounding success, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the grand
finale. The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial
potential but also inspired the audience with the transformative power of ideas.
