On December 28, the Hult Prize at IOE organised an engaging inaugural episode unfolded online via Zoom for the talk series serving as a mentorship platform for participants in the Hult Prize global challenge. In case you couldn’t join, here’s a concise recap of the noteworthy highlights.
This year, the Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, has joined hands with general sponsors Taskade, Rastriya Banijya Bank, and Protozoa Host as hosting partners. The talk series, “Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship,” aims to share the success strategies of our guests and offer insightful advice to those desiring to establish a name for themselves in the entrepreneurial world, as well as in the Hult Prize.
The Talk Series I officially began after the introduction of the guests by the MC, Miss Riyaj Nepal. In attendance were some of the nation’s top social entrepreneurs, Samaya Khadka, Akrit Dhungel, and Niraj Kafle. Then, the Campus Director, Mr. Aditya Pandey, gave a short introduction to Hult and this year’s theme, outlined the goals of the first talk session, and welcomed everyone to the mentorship session while inspiring participants to participate.
At first, Mr Samaya Khadka, CEO of Sharing Opportunities, an online platform for information and new opportunities, unveiled his remarkable journey, sharing insights into success across online platforms, education, and product design. He made his presentation lively and got everyone involved. He engaged the audience in a brainstorming session allowing the participants to contribute their ideas about the usage of a broom instead of cleaning. He believes in giving everyone a fair shot, understanding that each person brings something valuable to the table, and creating a space where all sorts of ideas can thrive.
Secondly, Mr Akrit Dhungel, the co-founder of OnlyApply, uncovered the strategies to navigate challenges and seize opportunities that will transform your business game. He described the common path entrepreneurs traverse—one marked by failures before reaching success. He emphasized the need for an “anti-fragile” mindset and underscored the importance of responding resiliently to setbacks on this entrepreneurial journey. He also highlighted that maintaining steadfast willpower becomes more manageable when you’re genuinely passionate about your pursuits.
Then our third speaker, Mr. Niraj Kafle, Co-founder of Offering Happiness, spoke about his personal journey, impact stories, innovative solutions, collaboration, ethical practices, and overcoming challenges. He talked about social entrepreneurship not only as associated with providing aid in challenging environments but also as involving sharing and extending opportunities through your entrepreneurial journey and efforts, not just offering immediate assistance like clothing but creating sustainable impact and empowerment.
The event’s participant response and Hult Prize team collaboration were the icing on the cake.
As shown by the program’s seamless continuation, the reaction of participation towards guests and the talk session was filled with amazing Q&As.
Our Zoom meeting was made remarkable by the participants and campus delegations from a few colleges that were all extremely energetic.
Overall, the IOE Pulchowk Campus’s Hult Prize entrepreneurship talk show was clearly interactive and was a huge success.
